Vaa Vaathiyaar Box Office Collection Day 8: The Tamil film Vaa Vaathiyaar continues to struggle at the Indian box office as it enters its second week. According to early trade estimates, the film earned approximately ₹0.02 crore net on Day 8 (Wednesday), marking one of its lowest single-day collections since release. The movie, which hit theatres on January 14, 2026, has witnessed a steep decline in footfalls after the first weekend.
Box Office Trend So Far
After a decent opening, Vaa Vaathiyaar peaked on Day 2, benefiting from initial buzz and festive momentum. However, collections began to drop sharply from Day 3 onwards. By the end of the first week, the film had already lost most of its theatrical traction, with weekdays delivering minimal returns.
Trade analysts point out that mixed word-of-mouth, strong competition from new releases, and limited repeat value have significantly affected the film’s box office performance. The second Monday and Tuesday showed weak numbers, and Day 8 has now confirmed that the film is nearing the end of its commercial run in several centres.

By the end of Day 6, Vaa Vaathiyaar had collected around ₹8.08 crore net in India, which increased marginally to approximately ₹8.32 crore by the end of the first week. The worldwide gross stands between ₹9.5 crore and ₹10.25 crore, with overseas markets also showing limited growth.
With weekday collections now almost negligible, Vaa Vaathiyaar is unlikely to see any major recovery unless there is an unexpected surge over the coming weekend. At this stage, the film’s lifetime box office total is expected to close well below early expectations, making it a below-average performer at the box office.
