Baby Girl Collection Day 1: Nivin Pauly’s ‘Baby Girl’ Gets Slow Start at Box Office, Earns ₹0.75 Crore on Opening Day

Baby Girl Collection Day 1: Nivin Pauly’s new Malayalam thriller ‘Baby Girl’ released in theaters yesterday on January 23, 2026, but the opening day results aren’t looking great. The film had a pretty weak start at the box office, which is surprising for a movie starring such a popular actor.

First Day Collections Disappoint Fans

The movie could only collect around ₹0.75 crore across India on its first day. This is considered quite low for a Nivin Pauly film. Early evening reports showed even lower numbers at just ₹0.26 crore, though the final count came in slightly better by the end of the day.

How Many People Watched the Movie?

The theater occupancy numbers show that not many people rushed to watch ‘Baby Girl’ on day one. On average, only 21.47% of seats were filled in Malayalam shows. Here’s how it looked throughout the day:

Show Time How Full Were Theaters
Morning Shows 19.70%
Afternoon Shows 14.44%
Evening Shows 18.90%
Night Shows 32.84%

The good news? Night shows did much better at 32.84%, which means people who watched it earlier might have told their friends it’s worth watching. Still, afternoon shows were the weakest with barely 14% occupancy.
