O Romeo Review – Shahid Kapoor Delivers a Power-Packed Performance in This Gripping Crime Drama!

Hey friends, remember how everyone went crazy for Shahid Kapoor in Kabir Singh? That blockbuster made fans wait for his next big hit. Now, with O Romeo releasing today (February 13, 2026), the big question is: Will this Vishal Bhardwaj-directed film finally end the wait for another massive success, or will it quietly come and go like his last release Deva?

After watching it, I can say one thing loud and clear — O Romeo is outstanding! If I had to describe it in one word, it’s a perfect mix of Shahid’s raw energy, deep storytelling, and pure emotions.

O Romeo Review

What Makes O Romeo Special?

Think of it like this: Take a bit of the alpha attitude from Kabir Singh, add the intense love from Tere Ishq Mein, throw in some gritty Mumbai underworld vibes from Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, and mix it all well. That’s exactly what O Romeo feels like.

The story follows Shahid Kapoor as Arjun — a fully corrupt, ruthless gangster. He’s a womanizer, does drugs, commits murders, and rules the underworld scene. Then enters Tripti Dimri — a helpless woman whose husband was killed by the mafia king. She comes to Arjun for help. At first, he’s too bad to care. But a powerful twist changes everything. From there, his whole life becomes about one thing — taking revenge for her.

No spoilers here, but the line “Randi ba se seedha Romeo” hits hard and changes Arjun completely!

Performances That Steal the Show

  • Shahid Kapoor — This might be his career-best! In the first 30-40 minutes, it’s a complete one-man show. His dialogues, dance moves, and ruthless action will make you whistle in the theatre. He switches so smoothly between swag, anger, and romance — you can feel every emotion in his eyes.
  • Tripti Dimri — Mind-blowing! She brings so much heart and strength. After seeing her recent challenging roles, this one will get her even more praise.
  • Nana Patekar — Plays a tough cop who wants to wipe out the underworld. His role is short but impactful — just a couple of strong dialogues.
  • Cameos — Tamannaah Bhatia and Vikrant Massey have important surprise appearances that add nice twists.

Music and Pace

The romantic songs didn’t wow me much, but the party tracks like “Aashiqon Ki Colony” and “Paan Ki Dukaan” are fire! When Shahid dances on screen, theatres will feel like stadiums.

Yes, the pace slows a bit before interval for character building and story depth. But don’t worry — it’s not a regular fast action movie. It’s a crime thriller with real love at its core.
