Ranveer Singh’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar has scripted history at the Indian box office, officially emerging as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in India on January 6. With this milestone, the film has ended a nearly nine-year dominance of dubbed South Indian releases on the all-time Hindi box office chart.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar earned ₹4.75 crore on its 33rd day, pushing its total domestic nett collection to ₹781.75 crore. This remarkable figure allowed the film to surpass Pushpa 2: The Rule (Hindi version), which had closed its run at ₹738 crore nett.
The film’s gross domestic collection now stands at ₹938 crore, making it one of the most successful theatrical releases in Indian cinema history.
Bollywood Reclaims the Box Office Crown After Nearly a Decade
his achievement marks the first time since 2017 that a straight Hindi film has held the title of the highest-grossing Hindi release in India. Previously, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion had taken the crown from Dangal and retained it until Pushpa 2 briefly claimed the record in 2024.
With Dhurandhar now on top, Bollywood has finally reclaimed its long-lost box office supremacy.
