Kia Carens Clavis HTE EX: Kia India has strengthened its MPV portfolio with the launch of a new HTE(EX) variant of the Carens Clavis, aimed at buyers who want premium comfort features without stepping into higher-priced trims. Positioned above the HTE(O), the newly introduced version focuses on improving in-cabin experience while retaining the model’s value-driven appeal.
The biggest upgrade in the Carens Clavis HTE(EX) is the addition of a single-pane sunroof, making it one of the most accessible sunroof-equipped MPVs in its segment. Until now, this feature was reserved for higher variants, but Kia’s latest move brings it closer to budget-conscious family buyers who still want a touch of luxury in their everyday drive.
Despite the new feature addition, the overall layout and usability remain familiar. The MPV continues to offer a spacious 7-seat configuration, flexible seating arrangement, and practical interior design that suits long family journeys as well as daily commuting. The cabin ambience benefits from the sunroof without compromising headroom or comfort.
On the safety front, the HTE(EX) variant carries forward essential equipment such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, and a digital instrument cluster. These features ensure that safety standards remain consistent across lower and mid-level trims in the lineup.
Kia also offers higher variants like the HTX(EX), which add more comfort-oriented upgrades including fully automatic climate control, LED daytime running lights, LED position lamps, and LED interior lighting, along with a driver-side auto up/down power window for added convenience.

Powertrain options remain unchanged, with the Carens Clavis available in 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Depending on the variant, buyers can choose between manual, iMT, and automatic gearbox options.
Kia Carens Clavis HTE(EX) Price
- 1.5 Petrol – ₹12.54 lakh
- 1.5 Turbo Petrol – ₹13.41 lakh
- 1.5 Diesel – ₹14.52 lakh
With the introduction of the HTE(EX) trim, Kia has expanded the Carens Clavis range to better match evolving customer preferences, reinforcing its position in the competitive mid-size MPV segment in India.
