Mardaani 3 Advance Booking: The box office battle is heating up! While Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and Sunny Deol’s Border 2 are making big noise at theaters, Rani Mukerji’s much-awaited Mardaani 3 is facing a tough challenge.
Fans are excited to see Rani return as the fierce Shivani Shivaji Roy once again. The movie hits theaters on January 30th, and advance booking started on January 28th. But here’s the surprise – Border 2 is completely crushing it in ticket sales.
Mardaani 3 Advance Booking Numbers
According to Republic World’s report, Mardaani 3 sold just 2,100 tickets on its first day of advance booking across India. With 1,456 shows scheduled, the film managed to earn only ₹5.6 lakh from pre-sales.
Industry experts say ticket sales might pick up as the release date gets closer. Let’s hope things turn around!
For comparison, Mardaani 2 opened with ₹3.80 crore on its first day back in 2019. That movie went on to collect ₹40 crore worldwide against a budget of just ₹30 crore, making it a solid hit.
Border 2 Dominates Pre-Sales
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol’s Border 2 is running away with the show. According to Koimoi’s data, the film has already sold ₹3.95 crore worth of tickets for day seven alone.
Compared to day six’s advance booking of ₹4.65 crore, there’s a 15% drop in pre-sales – but that’s totally normal for weekdays. The movie is expected to cross ₹12 crore on its seventh day, showing no signs of slowing down.
What to Expect from Mardaani 3
YRF is producing this highly anticipated sequel, with Abhiraj Minawala sitting in the director’s chair. The script comes from Ayush Gupta, who’s known for writing The Railway Men.
This is the third film in the Mardaani franchise. The original 2014 movie was directed by the late Pradeep Sarkar and became both a commercial and critical success. Mardaani 2 followed in 2019, written and directed by Gopi Puthran.
Rani Mukerji’s cop character Shivani Shivaji Roy has become iconic over the years. Fans love her tough, no-nonsense attitude and the way she fights for justice.

The Box Office Challenge Ahead
With Border 2 pulling in massive crowds and holding strong even in its second week, Mardaani 3 faces an uphill battle. The film needs strong word-of-mouth and positive reviews to attract audiences.
Will Rani’s powerful performance be enough to turn things around? We’ll find out soon when the film releases on January 30th. One thing’s for sure – the box office clash between these two films is going to be interesting to watch!
