Mayasabha Box Office Collection Day 5: Slow Run Continues for Barve’s Thriller

Rahi Anil Barve’s Mayasabha: The Hall of Illusion is having a really low-key run at the theatres. The psychological thriller starring Jaaved Jaaferi released on January 30, 2026, and as of Day 5 (Tuesday, February 3), early numbers show the Mayasabha box office collection Day 5 at around ₹7 lakh net in India. That’s a small uptick from Monday, but overall, the film is struggling big time.

The total India net after five days stands at about ₹67 lakh. It opened as one of the lowest Bollywood launches of 2026 with just ₹12 lakh on Day 1, and even the weekend jump couldn’t push it much higher.

The main reasons for the slow pace? Almost no marketing push, very few screens, and super tough competition from Border 2 (still ruling mass belts) and Mardaani 3 (grabbing multiplex attention). Many people simply haven’t heard about it yet.

But here’s the bright side – critics and those who’ve watched are loving it. Mayasabha holds solid ratings: 8.1/10 on IMDb and 9.2/10 on BookMyShow. Jaaved Jaaferi’s intense, dark performance is getting the biggest cheers.

Some say the slow pace feels “tedious” to casual viewers, but fans of deep, thought-provoking cinema are calling it a hidden gem.

Made on a modest ₹5 crore budget, the film might still break even thanks to digital and satellite deals, even if theatres stay quiet. Director Rahi Anil Barve (of Tumbbad fame) didn’t get the same hype this time, but the quality is there.

The Mayasabha box office collection Day 5 numbers show a classic indie challenge – great reviews, low visibility. Will word-of-mouth bring more people in the second week, or will it stay a niche favourite?
