Nissan Gravite: Nissan Motor India just dropped some exciting news for Indian car buyers. They’re bringing a brand new 7-seater MPV called the Nissan Gravite, and it’s launching on February 17th. This could be a game-changer in the affordable family car segment.
Built for Indian Families
The Gravite is specially designed keeping Indian families in mind. It’s based on the same platform as the popular Renault Triber, using the proven CMF-A architecture. The car will offer three rows of seats, making it perfect for bigger families. Nissan confirmed it’ll be a proper 7-seater, so no one gets left behind on family trips.
What’s Under the Hood?
While Nissan hasn’t officially shared engine details yet, the Gravite will likely use the same 1.0-liter petrol engine as the Triber. This three-cylinder engine makes 72 horsepower and 96 Nm of torque, with two gearbox options: a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT automatic.
There’s also buzz about a possible turbo-petrol option. If Nissan adds this, the Gravite could get a punchier 100 horsepower engine with 160 Nm torque, paired with either a manual or CVT automatic.

Price That Won’t Break the Bank
The best part? The Nissan Gravite is expected to cost between ₹5.76 lakh and ₹8.60 lakh, similar to the Triber’s current pricing. This makes it one of the most affordable 7-seater options in India. Nissan might even offer special introductory prices to attract early buyers.
With features like a 360-degree camera and sunroof at this price point, the Gravite could give tough competition to popular models like Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens.
