Once again, full-size pickups secured the top three positions, led by the Ford F-150. These trucks benefit from massive original sales volumes, strong brand loyalty, and consistent demand from both personal and commercial buyers. SUVs and sedans, however, were not far behind, with several models making notable jumps in ranking due to increased availability and affordability.

Among the biggest movers, the Chevrolet Equinox surged into the top five thanks to years of high-volume production that boosted used inventory nationwide. The Chevrolet Malibu saw one of the sharpest rises, largely driven by rental fleet sell-offs that brought a wave of low-mileage sedans into the market.

Used EV Market: Growing, but Still Separate

Electric vehicles continued to gain traction in the used space, though none entered the overall top 10. Tesla models dominated used EV sales, with the Model 3 leading overall and the Model Y holding a significant share of the segment. Other EVs like the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Volkswagen ID.4 also posted steady gains.

With strong new-EV sales—especially models such as the Chevy Equinox EV—the used EV market is expected to expand rapidly in the coming years. For now, 2025 confirms that pickups still rule the used car landscape, while electric vehicles steadily prepare for their next big leap.
