Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella EV Launched in India: Toyota has electrified the compact SUV segment with the launch of its first all-electric model in India, the Urban Cruiser Ebella EV, on January 20, 2026. This rebadged version of the Maruti e Vitara brings premium styling, advanced tech, and eco-friendly performance to challenge rivals like Hyundai Creta EV and MG ZS EV. Bookings are now open at Rs 25,000, with deliveries expected soon.
The Ebella EV boasts a bold ‘Urban Tech’ design with segmented LED DRLs, triangular headlights, vertical air vents, and 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels. Measuring 4285 mm long, 1800 mm wide, and 1640 mm tall with a 2700 mm wheelbase, it offers a commanding road presence. Under the hood, it’s powered by LFP batteries: a 49 kWh pack (144 hp, 189 Nm) for 440 km range, or a 61 kWh (174 hp, 189 Nm) for up to 543 km. DC fast charging hits 10-80% in 45 minutes, while AC home charging supports 7.2 kW. Front-wheel drive and regenerative braking ensure efficient drives.
Inside, the dual-tone cabin features a 10.25-inch digital cluster, 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, JBL audio, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, and 12-color ambient lighting.
