Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: Volkswagen is set to launch its new flagship SUV, the Tayron R-Line, in India by March 2026. The German carmaker recently showcased the seven-seater SUV on social media, marking its entry into the premium large SUV segment.
Unlike the Tiguan R-Line which was fully imported, the Tayron will be assembled locally in India. This should help keep prices competitive compared to other premium SUVs in the market.
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Design
The Tayron sits on Volkswagen’s MQB EVO platform, the same one used in the Tiguan. However, it’s significantly larger with a 2,789 mm wheelbase – over 100 mm longer than its smaller sibling. This extra space allows for a proper third row of seats and generous luggage room. With the last row folded down, you get 850 litres of boot space.
The R-Line version gets sporty bumpers, special badging, and sharp-looking 19-inch alloy wheels that give it an aggressive stance.
