Parasakthi box office collection day 3: The Tamil period drama Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, witnessed a sharp slowdown at the box office on its first weekday. After a strong opening weekend, the film struggled to hold momentum on Monday, taking its total India net collection to Rs 25.35 crore after three days.
Parasakthi box office collection day 3
Solid opening weekend for ‘Parasakthi’
According to early estimates, Parasakthi opened well at the box office. The film collected Rs 12.5 crore on its opening day, a healthy start that reflected strong pre-release buzz and fan support. On day 2, collections dipped slightly to Rs 10.1 crore, but the weekend still looked promising. By the end of Sunday, the total stood at Rs 22.60 crore, indicating decent traction during the first two days.
Monday test proves challenging
The real test came on Monday. As expected for a weekday, Parasakthi saw a significant drop in footfalls. On day 3, the film earned approximately Rs 2.75 crore India net. With this, the total box office collection reached Rs 25.35 crore.
Such a fall from Sunday to Monday is common, especially for films that rely heavily on opening-weekend audiences. However, sustaining collections over the coming weekdays will now depend largely on word of mouth.
Occupancy figures reflect the drop
Theatre occupancy on Monday clearly showed the slowdown. Overall Tamil occupancy for the day stood at 19.70%.
- Morning shows: 13.45%
- Afternoon shows: 19.57%
- Evening shows: 21.13%
- Night shows: 24.65%
While night shows performed relatively better, the low morning and afternoon turnout indicates reduced weekday interest.
Mixed audience reactions
Directed by Sudha Kongara, Parasakthi features a strong ensemble cast including Ravi Mohan, Sreeleela, Atharvaa and Rana Daggubati.
Audience reactions on social media have been mixed. One viewer wrote that while the film had strong potential, it was let down by a “lacklustre screenplay and dialogues.” Another viewer offered a more positive take, calling it a “decent watch” and praising the film’s 1960s setting, protest sequences and performances—especially Sivakarthikeyan and Atharvaa. The music by G. V. Prakash Kumar has also received appreciation.
With mixed word of mouth and a noticeable Monday drop, Parasakthi now needs steady weekday collections and stronger public response to maintain its box office run. Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in Madharaasi, directed by A. R. Murugadoss, which also received mixed reviews.
Whether Parasakthi can regain momentum over the next few days remains to be seen.
